Project: BBC Introducing in Bristol's "Den Sessions on Tour"

In the summer of 2012 (if you can call it that) Brisfest returned to the ancestral home of the Bristolian music festival, Ashton Court and the team at BBC Introducing in Bristol were given the distinct honour and burden of hosting and curating a stage for the day. Luckily we had the best weather we could have asked for and put on 10 incredible acts that all went down a treat. But what the crowds flocking to the BBC Introducing stage were not aware of was that there was also a panoply of things going on backstage.

Behind the stage we had set up a 'green room', so to speak, complete with picket fencing, bean bags and a garden of vinyl flowers. The main featuire of our green room was our Brisfest caravan, a gorgeous one of a kind VW camper caravan which we were kindly lent for the day. Here was where I spent most of my day helping to organise what we called BBC Introducing in Bristol's "Den Sessions on Tour". We invited a roster of bands and acts to come into our caravan for interviews and intimate acoustic sessions all hosted by up-and-coming radio-presenter Milly Chowles.

A large part of my role at BBC Introducing in Bristol, not just as a Broadcast-Assistant, is to film live sessions to be put up online so as to expand the show to the visual. Despite being cut off from the outside world for a large portion of the day, I actually really enjoyed myself, being able to experience really unique live sessions with some very talented people. They are definitely worth a look if you have the time. I have placed a couple of them below but the YouTube playlist with every Brisfest session that I filmed and edited  can be found here.
