Project: BBC Introducing In The West Sessions

With a new year, a new show and an entirely new region of the country to cover 'BBC Introducing In The West' offers up brand new sessions from the West's best acts. To live up to this I have also had to up my game.

For the new show I have given the session videos a bit of a remodel with a brand new set of titles comprising of a select number of clips from past sessions as well as a soundscape of sorts. The films are now shot in widescreen and presented in full blown 1080p HD. Exciting stuff. Below are examples from our first two sessions with 'Hot Feet' and 'Jim Lockey & The Solemn Sun'.

'Hot Feet' are a relatively new act hailing from Stroud. They play gorgeous folk music with delicate harmonies and elegant guitar work. Their new EP 'Wood House' was recorded under a mountain in Scotland. Quite the fairytale setting to fit their beautiful sounds. After having toured extensively with collaborators Sam Brookes and Pete Roe they are sure to be on the road again soon so keep an ear and an eye out for them in a town near you.

'Jim Lockey & The Solemn Sun' was a session I had been really looking forward to ever since I heard about the show expanding, knowing that they are based in Cheltenham. I am a great lover of the festival '2000 Trees' where they are favourites, having played all 6 years (2 of which I have seen them) and are currently managed by one of the organisers. Their most recent album 'Death' may sound morbid but is a great example of raw, punk songwriting littered with hooks. They start touring the UK this month.
