Hear: The Twilight Sad - Tell Me When We're Having Fun

The extremely high quality of music that comes out of Scotland continues to astound me. Frightened Rabbit, We Were Promised Jetpacks and Broken Records to name but a few. So I am not surprised when I hear yet another brilliant track from 'The Twilight Sad' who are definitely a highlight of the country's music scene. Not afraid to branch out and invade the ears of those foreign to their homeland they bring out track after track and yet don't seem to slip. In this manner they have just headed off on a spring tour of the U.S. where they appear to have a strong fan-base.

To celebrate said tour, they have been very generous in offering up a free download of new track 'Tell Me When We're Having Fun'. What a treat. It carries the same dark, moody electronic drum beats and post-punk mannerisms that made their most recent full length offering, 'No One Can Ever Know', so appealing. It creates a track with depth and beauty that harks back to bands of an era long missed. All topped off by vocalist James Graham's gorgeous Scottish vowels.

Having missed them on their last tour I am very much looking forward to a new album where they will hopefully drop by Bristol. No doubt to write music of their quality is going to take time however. This will definitely keep me satisfied until such time comes.

Stream 'Tell Me When We're Having Fun' below. You can download the track from the band's Facebook page, for the fee of only your email address and "like". They tour the U.S. until the end of March in the esteemed company of Frightened Rabbit for many of the dates. All I can say is, the Americans are a very lucky bunch.
